Kimberley Dynamiters January Player of the Month: Nolan Kurylo

The Kimberley Dynamiters named Nolan Kurylo as their January Player of the Month. During the nine games in January he scored six goals, two power play goals, 13 assists and was named game star twice. His efforts also earned him the recognition as the KIJHL Kootenay Conference Player of the Month.

"It's a pretty big honor." Kurylo said after being named the Nitro's P.O.M. "Honestly, it wouldn't have happened without my teammates, and all the help they have been giving me."

Kurylo had a little grin as he commented about the league recognition, "That's another big accomplishment. It's good to be getting a bit of the glory, but right now we are looking to the playoffs."

There has been a history of the player that receives the P.O.M. recognition gets jinxed, and Kurylo feels he can move past that, "Keep playing the way I am... Just not let it get to me."

He then added. "I know we didn't have the best month, but we are starting to come around now, and we will be coming in hot into the playoffs."

Head coach and general manager Derek Stuart said of Kurylo's play: "He was good. Nolan is another player who typically is pretty consistent with working hard, going to the front of the net and making the most of his opportunities.

"His line had a real good month with Karpyshyn and Miller. He's very deserving of it. He's one of the reasons we were in most of those games even though we lost."
