Nitro's Week That Was and The Week Ahead - February 1, 2016

The Kimberley Dynamiters had a quiet weekend as they had one game on the schedule. They traveled all the way to Castlegar for their lone match. The night before, the Rebels were caught up in an ugly line brawl with the Nelson Leafs, and it seemed some the anger spilled over to this game.

Brouwer started the game. Meier returned to the lineup and had some shifts. The Dynamiters were tied with the Rebels after one with goals from Chabot and Colapaolo (his first as a Nitro). The Nitro's scored another two goals in the 2nd to build a lead, goals by Tyler Van Steinburg and Hunt. Farmer added the insurance marker in the 3rd to give the Nitro's a 5-3 victory. Brouwer made 32 saves. The Nitro's went 1/7 on the PP (lots of penalties by the Rebels), and they were 100% on the PK (1/1). Haase and Moser picked up two assists on the night. Dynamite Player of the Game: Chabot. The KIJHL Star of the Game was not listed.

The Week Ahead
The Dynamiters have three games this week. First a weekday road match against Creston Valley Thunder Cats on Wednesday. Then the PINK THE RINK home game against Fernie on Friday, followed by a road game against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks - rematch of last years Kootenay Conference finals, and a match up of the two top teams in the conference. One victory this week secures the #1 spot for the Nitro's in the division. (correction Feb. 2, the Nitro's have already clinched the division)
